The Annual Caledonian Lecture presents the lives of Scots who have had a major impact on World and National affairs. For the 4th Annual Lecture we naturally linked the lecture to the Centenary of the commencement of First World War.
The Club was honoured to have Sir Hew Strachan, Chichele Professor of the History of War at Oxford University, to deliver the lecture entitled: “Haldane, Haig and Hamilton – The mobilization of Scotland in 1914” telling the lives of three Scots who had such an impact on the conflict.
The Club was indebted to the Imperial War Museum and the London Scottish Regiment for their support.
