fee198a1-4e5a-402a-9179-20628170da08Autumn is looming and that can only mean one thing …… Strictly Come Dancing is back on the box! This year sees a dynamic Club connection in that Member, Thom Evans, will be taking part! Most will know Thom through his Scottish rugby career which was sadly cut short due to a serious injury. However that didn’t stop him forging a career in other areas which has led him to the Strictly dance floor.
Members may be interested to know that one of the judges, Darcey Bussell, was a Member of the Club as were her mother and grandfather, so extra points for Thom please Darcey!
Let’s all wish Thom and his dance partner Iveta well in their endeavours to lift that Glitterball Trophy. Tune in tonight on BBC1 at 9pm for the opening show. Click here for more information on Thom.

The Club took part in ‘Open House‘ 2014 – over 250 members of the public viewed the Club on Sunday 21 September. They were given tours led by a number of Committee Members from House, Membership and the Club’s Charity, The Common Good Fund. Tours often ended with applause! Ian Ross, Chairman of the House Committee believes that Andrew Jamieson received the highest score on the ‘clap-o-meter’.
