Becoming A Member
Membership of the Caledonian Club brings with it many benefits. The beautiful dining room with its excellent wine list, bedrooms and exceptional private dining and meeting rooms are available to Members at prices well below those of the equivalent commercial sector. The Club proudly retains the original ethos and etiquette of a traditional Private Members’ Club. Reciprocal arrangements exist with four Clubs in Scotland and five in London, but the network is worldwide and the Caledonian Club Member can find a welcome in some fifty esteemed Clubs such as The Hong Kong Club, The Hurlingham Club in Argentina, Automobile Club de France in Paris, and Westchester Country Club in New York.
The Club aims to be a home from home, providing comfort, fraternity and a familiar place to relax and unwind.
Reputation for good fellowship and the spirit of friendship amongst members is fostered by successful Social and Societies events. All who visit the Club receive a warm welcome, embracing not just Scots but all those who enjoy an empathy with Scotland and things Scottish.
Introduction by existing Members is the most usual route to membership, however, it is not the only one. If you are suitably qualified (by being a Scot or having a close association or empathy with Scotland) you can apply.
Applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee. Applicants should have a proposer and seconder. Where there is no proposer and seconder, or a proposer only, applicants will be invited to meet the Committee.
The Club holds an Open Evening several times a year to give membership candidates an opportunity to view the Club’s facilities and to meet the Members and Committee members. The forthcoming will be 6 March 2017. If you would like more information, please contact Anne Rowland, Membership Secretary at email@example.com
