| Q: How do you join the Club? | ||
|
A: To become a Member you must have the following qualifications: You may be elected to membership of the Club by the Committee when proposed and seconded by two existing Members. For further information contact the Membership Secretary, membership@caledonianclub.com. |

| Q: Do you have a dress code? | ||
| A: Ladies and gentlemen using the Club are requested to conform to the standards of the Club. In the public rooms, gentlemen are required to wear suits or jackets with ties and ladies to conform to the same standard. Members and guests will not be required to wear a jacket and tie in the Club before 9.30am. Casual dress is only permissible at weekends and after 6pm on Fridays. Jeans, shorts or trainers are not permitted at any time. The Secretary has the discretion to permit jackets to be removed in the dining room during particularly hot or humid weather. Jackets only may be removed on the Terrace. Jeans, shorts or running shoes are only permitted going to and from bedrooms. | ||
| Q: Can my spouse and children stay? | ||
| A: Yes, but children under eight are not permitted in the Club. Children over eight are welcome and are expected to conform to the dress requirements as stated above. | ||
| Q: What is the cost to stay at the Club for reciprocal members or guests? | ||
| A: Reciprocal members and guests may stay at the Club. All bedrooms are en-suite. The cost of a single room Monday to Thursday, including full Scottish cooked breakfast and taxes, is £137 Monday - Thursday and £117 Friday to Sunday. | Q: Do you have facilities for functions? | ||
| A: The Johnnie Walker Music Room provides a superbly flexible space. This room has comfortable seating for up to 170 quests and makes the Club the ideal venue for a town wedding. The Library, Stuart, Selkirk and Oval rooms are splendid for smaller parties. These rooms are available throughout the day for lunches, receptions, family celebrations or even business meetings. | Q: Do you have meeting rooms? | ||
| A: Several: the Morrison Room is perfect for business meetings for up to 10 people,the Study for up to four people. We also have rooms which can be used for meetings or functions which can hold up to 250 people. For further information please contact banqueting@caledonianclub.com. | ||
| Q: Can I use a computer while I am at the Club? | ||
| A: Yes, there is a Business Centre adjacent to the Secretriat, with two PCs with printers. All bedrooms and meeting rooms have WiFi or LAN. WiFi is also available in the Library where PDAs and Laptops may be used for accessing the web; however these must be used in silent mode. | ||
| Q: Do you have a snooker table? | ||
| A: Yes, a full-size Riley snooker table is located in the basement of the Club. The room is free to use and is large enough to accommodate a private bar if you wish to hire the room for a function. | ||
| Q: Do you take credit cards? | ||
| A: All major credit cards except Diners Club are accepted. A small charge of £1 is made on each transaction to cover administration fees. | ||
| Q: What time is last orders in the Members' Dining Room? | ||
| A: From Monday to Friday, lunch is served from 12.45 to 14.15, Dinner 19.00 to 21.30, (Fridays only: last orders 20.45). | ||
| Q: Does the Members' Dining Room open at the weekend? | ||
| A: Only full Scottish cooked breakfast is available, lunch and dinner are not available at weekends. | ||
| Q: Is the Bar open at the weekend? | ||
| A: The bar is open on Saturdays from 12noon to 7pm and snacks are available. The 'Wee Dram Bar' at Reception is available at all other times for residents. The Oval Room is open when major sporting events are televised on terrestrial channels. | ||
| Q: Are the bedrooms en suite? | ||
| A: All bedrooms are en suite and have telephone, broadband Internet access, TV, radio, tea and coffee making facilities, trouser press and hairdryer. | ||
| Q: Do you have car parking facilities? | ||
| A: The Club has negotiated discount parking at the nearby Kinnerton Place Car Park. In order to receive the discount, a pre-loaded card is required which may be obtained from Reception. | ||
| Q: Where I can buy a kilt? | ||
| A: For all Highland wear you can make an appointment to see Kinloch Anderson of Edinburgh on 0131 555 1390 or www.kinlochanderson.com. Our Highland dress tailor comes to the Club on the first Thursday of every month. | ||
| Q: I am looking for a piper, can you help? | ||

| Q: Do you have a gym or a swimming pool? | ||
| A: We have an arrangement with a gym five minutes walk away, which has a lovely three lane pool. Day passes are available to purchase from Reception for £5. | ||

| A: From Hyde Park Corner heading for Victoria, take the turn off at Grosvenor Place - Halkin Street is the first street on the right. For more general information use the travel weblinks section and see the location map on this site. | ||
