Meet The Team


David Balden

About David:

David joined the Club in 1992 as a Trainee Manager and worked his way through all areas of the Club operation before becoming House Manager, Assistant Secretary and now Secretary from January 2017. David was also one of the first Certified Club Managers in Europe in 2008 and sits on the main Club Managers Association of Europe board, principally involved in education for Club Managers.

PA to the Secretary

Alison Davis

About Alison:

Alison first joined the Club in 1984 working in various department before taking up the position of Membership Secretary. She left the Club in 2003 to move back to Scotland with her family and returned in October 2007 to take on the role of PA to the Secretary. She is also Production Co-ordinator for the bi-annual Club magazine and assists her colleagues with membership and events.

Membership Secretary

Anne Rowland

About Anne:

Anne came to the Club from The Royal Ocean Racing Club where she enjoyed working on yacht racing events in the UK and previously with Alfred McAlpine Construction.

As Membership Secretary, Anne looks after the whole process from initial enquiry through to scrutiny and election.
Since taking on her full time role in 2006, she has initiated over 1000 new Members and has fielded many more enquiries.

Finance Manager

Angela Graham

About Angela:

Angela has experience within Architecture, Wine Merchants, Public Affairs and Corporate Finance. She took a career break training executives in Germany, Spain and London. Angela then resumed her accounting career for a start-up Credit Card, an Accountancy Firm, a small Hotel and a Lighting Manufacturer before moving to the Reform Club in 2008.

Lee Francis

About Lee:

Lee started his career with the Club some twenty years ago and comes back to us having worked his way up the ladder in restaurants and livery halls. He spent six years with previous Head Chef Roger Evans at The Institute of Directors and is looking forward to maintaining and enhancing the offering to the Membership.

House Manager

Frankie O’Donnell

About Frankie:

Frankie joined the Club in 2008 following an 8 year stint with Grosvenor Casinos in London where he trained as a croupier and a cashier before moving into the hospitality side of the casino business.

Frankie served as Reception Manager for 9 years before being promoted to House Manager in 2017 and is now responsible for Accommodation, Reception, Housekeeping and Maintenance.

Frankie has a diploma in Club Management and is working toward his Certified Club Manager designation.

Dining Room & Bar Manager

About Alex:

Alex Grainger joins us from The Wolseley and has an extensive background in Hospitality and Event Management.

These roles included Restaurant Manager at Colbert, Sloane Square and Waltons of Walton Street, Chelsea and the boutique Dinham Hall Hotel in Ludlow, in addition to managing events and all catering operations at the Belvoir Estate and Director of Operations at Hampton Court, Herefordshire.


Food and Beverage Manager

John Herity

About John:

John hails from Glasgow and arrived at the Club in 1991 as a trainee manager, gaining valuable skills in all departments. He left in 1994 and took up positions with in-house and contract caterers in various banks and financial institutions within the City and Canary Wharf. Over the years he has amassed a wealth of experience through roles within Royal households, livery halls and external catering events to name but a few. John is delighted to be back at the Club and is looking forward to sharing his knowledge with his colleagues.

John is married to Ruth and has a nine year old son Frank. His particular sport of interest is football which he follows and still likes to play on occasion.

About David:

David has worked in the Hospitality Industry since 1980, for numerous establishments such as 4* Corporate hotels and Golf Clubs. He has a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Hotel & Catering Management and a Masters in International Hotel Management.

David also owned a restaurant for over ten years.

Abigail Duggan

About Abigail:

Abigail joined the club in March 2011 having previously worked in 5 star hotels in Surrey and Central London. Abigail studied Hospitality Management at Portsmouth University for 4 years before pursuing a career in Event Management.


Events Executive

Susan Galloway

About Susan:

Former Trainee Manager and then Dining Room Manger, Susan Galloway, left the Club in December 2016 to work overseas and returned in January 2018 to cover maternity leave in the Banqueting office. Susan moved through to the Secretariat at the beginning of July to begin her role of Events Executive, organising the Club and Society events. Susan’s knowledge of the Club and Members, along with her enthusiasm, will help her greatly in her new position.
